BREAKING NEWS: CBS has ordered CBS TV Studios’ new drama Fire Country (fka Cal Fire) and added it to its schedule for the 2022-2023 season!
The show is inspired by star and executive producer Max Thieriot’s experience growing up in a fire-prone area of Northern California. It follows Bode Donovan, a young convict who, in search of a shorter sentence, returns to his hometown to work with other inmates and a group of elite firefighters.
Billy Burke, Kevin Alejandro, Diane Farr, Stephanie Arcila, Jordan Calloway and Jules Latimer round out the cast.
Burke plays Vince Leone, Bode’s father. A lovable pessimist, Vince is third-generation Cal Fire and the fire chief of the community of Middletown. A strong man who has fought many fires in his time, Vince is not about to give up and give in when a fire threatens to sweep into his town.
Thieriot shares story credit on the pilot with Joan Rater and Tony Phelan (Grey’s Anatomy), who wrote the telelplay. All three executive produce with David Grae and Jerry Bruckheimer Television’s Bruckheimer, Jonathan Littman and KristieAnne Reed. James Strong directed and exec produced the pilot.
